There are different types business communication. It depends on nature, size of business Organization. The types of communication are shown below through a diagram.
in time we see there are different types of communication that depends on its nature, scope size etc.
1. Oral communication:
When communication is made verbally & not in written is called oral communication. Say speech, face to face conversation, interview, meeting, conference etc.
2. Written Communication:
When message is- communicated in a written from, it is called written communication such as letter, Memo, report, notes, journal etc.
3. Non-Verbal Communication:
Communication without using words is known as verbal communication. It is not word-based communication Say, Symbols, body language, eye contact, color etc.
4. Vertical Communication:
When communication takes place to the vertical' diagram within the organization is called vertical Communication. It may also two types such as-
(a) Upward communication.
(b) Down Word communication.
When communication is occurred between subordinates to superior is called upwards & it's just opposite to downward communication.
5. Horizontal Communication:
When communication takes place between same status officers or individuals of the same organization is called horizontal communication. Say communication of production manager & sales manager.
6. Diagonal Communication:
Communication across the formal chain of command is called cross or diagonal communication. It is used to speed information flow.
7. Formal Communication:
When communication occurs by following the prescribed rules & regulation is called formal Communication.
8. Informal Communication:
When communication does not follow any prescribed rules or procedure is called informal communication. No official rules are followed here.
9. Internal Communication:
When communication is occurred among the employees in the same organization is called internal communication.
10. External Communication:
Internal Communication between members of the same organization.
